Kevin Trottier

Kevin brings over 20 years of technology product development, sales, and marketing to Live Earth.  He is focused on solving customer needs through Live Earth’s unique capabilities and on building a growth-driven culture at the company.

Kevin’s career includes executive roles at JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Verizon.  He is also an experienced entrepreneur as the CEO and Co-Founder of a successfully acquired, technology-enabled service business.  Kevin has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alberta.

His hobbies include playing tennis tournaments with his wife and skiing with his sons Mark, Jett and Truett.

Full Stack Web Developer

Position Information

As a Full Stack Web Developer at Live Earth, you’ll have the opportunity to drive our web app from UI/UX to backend cloud deployment. You’ll work with a small, remote, talented team to ship software fast and often as we learn from customers and the market together.

Qualifications

Some Experience:

  • Writing High Performance Node.js Apps
  • REST-based Microservice Architectures
  • Cloud Applications (preferably AWS)
  • Architecting, Documenting, Developing Features Independently
  • Functional Programming
  • Remote Team Communication Skills
  • Customer Support Communication Skills
  • UI/UX Design

Minimum 2+ Years Each:

  • React
  • Node
  • TypeScript
  • MongoDB (preferably in a replicated and sharded environment)
  • Kafka
  • Docker

Sales Engineer

Position Information

As a Sales Engineer at Live Earth, you’ll specialize in understanding the technical aspects of our streaming data platform. This is a critical, customer-facing role that includes identifying customer requirements, configuring the Live Earth platform and demonstrating it to customer executives and subject matter experts.

  • Full-Time

Location

  • Live Earth is headquartered in Austin, TX but this position can be remote within the US.

Responsibilities 

  • Research the customer in conjunction with the Live Earth sales team to identify & create customer use case demos by configuring the Live Earth platform, procuring data from customers and 3rd parties, and creating synthetic data as needed
  • Facilitate conversations with customer executives and subject matter experts to identify how Live Earth can solve specific problems
  • Conduct in-depth product demos in client presentations and conferences as needed
  • Establish customer rapport, acceptance & excitement with concise communications
  • Communicate with the Live Earth sales team to understand consumer demands and offer sales support where necessary
  • Recommend new and improved products to the customers explain how Live Earth will benefit them
  • Support the sales process including proposal drafting
  • Travel as needed to customer locations

Experience 

  • 2-3 years experience creating demo videos including editing and voice over utilizing Final Cut Pro or equivalent software
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel expertise
  • 3D object modeling experience using popular/common formats such as KML or SHP
